im getting close but could someone confirm this wiring is done correct to the 'block' near the battery please. also there are 2 small black rubber fuses on either side and am not sure what size fuse to run in them?

Re: Identify these please?

The wires at the term. block are correct. The black in line fuse holders are for the amp. gauge in the dash. They take 4 amp fuses. I cant help with the other wires.

Re: Identify these please?

The terminal in the last pic looks like the lighter connector, the wire looks the wrong color though, but that isn't necessarily any kind of sign depending on what's been done in the past. Not sure about the plug.

the truck had absolutely no wiring from front to rear.. I purchased a factory correct 'underdash loom' , and the 2 'engine bay looms' and dashboard from american autowire ,, and i have a wiring diagram.. these 2 wires in the last pic arnt very clear on the diagram.? both black , they come out of the harness with the wiper motor wiring. earths for something?

there is also an extra wire with the purple starter motor wire which is yellow ,, its a mystery as well? i have an HEI dizzy and internal reg alternator if that helps? ..

Re: Identify these please?

You won't need the yellow wire. It's for the points circuit. Since you have HEI you won't need it. Just wrap it up or remove it. The wire with the clamp on it is a ground wire. I've seen them slipped over the edge of the bottom part of the dash or some other piece of the dash. Just make sure it's metal to metal. The wire with the terminal on it I have no clue. Does it have power?

Scott , i checked them today and both have no power, key 'on or off' so im guessing they are earths?

1 more question... the fuel tank sender has no wire on the sender post terminal.. do i run a wire from it to the fuse block with the terminal marked 'gauge'? its not a powered terminal in on or off position (key) ive noticed? is this correct?

That;s where the fuel sender wire goes and it is a tan or brown wire. It connects the fuel gauge to ground through a variable resistor in the sending unit.

Gav
Sorry about that
Yeah it runs from the fuel tank sender to the fuse block and then to the no 4 terminal on the cluster plug, then on to the gauge.

Re: Identify these please?

The black connector in the last pic could also be the courtesy light for your glove box.

Re: Identify these please?

USA69Z the black wire with clap is a ground wire I believe and you can clip any where along edge of dash.

Re: Identify these please?

glad to hear you got it done.

cut the ground crimp for the dash off ,put a ring connector on it, and screw it into the sheet metal. they don't ground real well after a year or so and the pulsing light on the hvac control will drive you nuts.
