Sure did Coral, Looking to get it here soon.The ignition condenser looks to be in great condition.How exactly do you see if the Points are in the correct setting?.The fuel pump has been replaced about 2 years ago(I believe) and it should be in great working condition. I need to take a photo of how the Fuel line is set up because to me it doesn't look correct because, I have an extra fuel line in this box and it seems like it needs to go somewhere..What size Barb fitting do I need to put on the Emission lines end to screw onto the Carb?

I meant the Vacuum line, it takes a fitting but what size? it needs to screw onto the Carbs fitting

So after rebuilding the carb, you are still using the old dirty small red plastic fuel can rigged inthe bed and wonder why you are still having fuel issues? You can replace, rebuild and clean your fuel system but if you are still running dirty gas you can expect the same outcome of the carb and fuel system being recontaminated with crap.

Point setting can be found in you chiltons manual. Condenser should not be inspected by a visual "looks good". It is electrical.

I'll clean it out alright? I know the Point Gap coral. I'm not 100% sure its a Fuel issue as it could be but it could be something else.I'm going to fix the Vacuum line first. I really need to get that New Gas tank

In the photo below it looks like the carb already has a fitting for the rubber between the carb and vac line? Or do you want to replace that fitting? Unscrew it and ask the hardware guy for one with the same threads and a barb to fit the hose size.

Orrie I am thinking that is one of the many issues with this Truck, as Coral stated the Fuel Tank needs to be cleaned out and put a new filter in it..I just cant get the Glass filter to unscrew and put the new one in. I am hoping after all of this, it will be running well, although I may need to buy a new Vacuum Advance here soon, suspecting since it is 50 years old.

Today

I Put new fuses in
New Coil
New Thermostat (Learned a valuable lesson, the hard way)
Grounded Brakes lights
Checked out the Gas Tank I bought last week, and am going to get it cleaned and put it back into the truck

Turn signal switch is shorting out somewhere..The right tail light isn't having brake lights, and turn lights.. I have done some testing and it is the Socket(I think) that is causing it because it is messed up on the inside

Replaced the fuses.. The Oil gauge wire is loose? and I am going to ground it.. although the Oil Gauge stays in the middle? Makes no sense to me.. Where is the Flasher location? or does it have one? and if it does where does the prong go? I am working currently while I have no way to get fuel on the wiring.Currently doing research on here for more info



Small Questions

Does the engine need to be running for the Blower to run? Guessing so
I have done some research on the Sending unit, such as cleaning the tip etc... I did that but haven't tried it yet because I cant get fuel( Plastic nozzle broke)


I have determined that I have Electric wipers, I tried moving it and it wouldn't... Still wouldn't work, wondering if the Wiper motor is bad.

You're making good progress.
If you're talking about the heater blower it should run without the engine running but will only blow cold air.

Figured that Kim, I wonder if the resistor is worn out or so, however the thermostat was messed up so I replaced it yesterday.Cleaned the sender units tip. Heater isn't a priority I just wanted to see if it'd work. The right turn signal and brake light doesn't come on.. So I am assuming it's something to do with the wiring, I figured id end up getting a new rear harness because this ones been cut or something so many damn fuse links. Anyone know a better way to clean a tank?? I'd like to save some money if I can. If the distributor fails on me, I'm just going with an electric ignition because I don't want to worry about Timing, points etc.. Haven't tried to run it because of the fuel issue, but I replaced the bad hose before the fuel pump. Fuel line is done except for the Gas tanks lines, which shouldn't be hard at all because I found the hard line. How much rubber flex hose do I need to get? To the fuel line on the carb. Thanks in advance.i am trying my hardest to keep motivated on this truck. Got a awesome deal on welding, $200 for all of it. SCORE !!!!. I have also nearly replaced everything ignition wisely still have three spark plugs to go and condenser and points. When I get my paycheck I will pursue that.

I am having issues with the right side of the Brake and Turn signal lights. Replaced the fuses and still nothing, starting to think its switch related. When I pull the headlight switch on and turn the blower on, it WORKS !!!! but it only works on Low, it is Resistor related I am sure. Replaced the Thermostat and the gasket as well, should fix some problems that I am dealing with. Grounded the Oil Gauges "Gray" Wire to the fuse box

Look at my reply to you post in the "what did you do today" thread, multimeter will save you a lot of time tracing electrical problems. Sounds like you are making good progress.

I replaced Two more plugs, and they're all Fouled and smell like gas still have one more to go.. Part of the old thermostat gasket wouldn't come off so I put the new one on (Stupid move) and it still leaks so I am going to buy another new one and do it properly, What can I use to get an old gasket off?? and now the damn inline fuel filter is leaking everywhere, the Clamps that go with it ain't doing jack squat I may need to buy those small screw clamps to go on there so it won't leak anymore. The Truck is turning over like it whats to go now.

I have an old 1/2" wood chisel I use for gasket removal. You can get the big chunks off with a stiff putty knife. Wire wheel works if the part is small. Tedious work. Screw band clamps will work better jus do not over tighten, that will cause premature deterioration of the hose.

Because those plier clamps are a pos, and its causing that leak to form around the hoses. Thank God it wasn't fully running because I would of had a Burnt truck!!! The glass one was leaking a little bit so I had to retightened the bowl.. I am trying to keep motivated with this truck, but looking underneath the dash there was more rust etc.Do they make patch panels where the rear fender bottoms, the steps go? because mine are rusted badly

They make every panel needed to rebuild the whole bottom of the cab and doors. Lots of build threads on it, key points are making sure your doors and glass fit before tackling the bottom. Then cross brace the cab to nothing moves. Factory manual shows the sequence thing were installed and welded. If you look carefully at the panels you can see the overlap sequence too. I got lucky and only had to do infill pieces not the whole thing.

He told me he would pull the Distributor out of the '59 Apache that he has, and see if it is in better shape than mine and throw in the Vacuum Advance ... Like I said $40 !!!!! SCORE

Is the glass bowl on the fuel pump? If so get a new fuel pump without the glass bowl and go with that. Sounds like you will be continually having leakage problems if you stick with that glass settlement bowl.

I run the glass sediment bowl on mine with no problems. Just get a new gasket, its like $3 from classic parts. In a pinch you can make your own.
