LS header choice for 57

Hi, Doing a restomod on a 57 with c4 suspension front and rear, Installing a LS 6.0/4l80e and need to get some headers. I amd looking at the speed engineering short headers that come with the short pipes with the 02 bungs. Has anyone used these ad have a opinion on them? I also see these cheaper headers on ebay all the time for like $85-95 and if anyone has used these. Thank You Steve

I bought some for my 57. They are nice looking and a good quality. I had to go with something else because I didn’t have the clearance that I needed by the steering shaft. I went with Summit brand cast headers they are just like the Hooker headers and come with flanges and O2 bungs.

Re: LS header choice for 57

I think that the stainless headers I have for the Cad 500 in my 71 GMC may be theirs.

Not a bad looking set of headers though https://www.amazon.com/Engineering-C...-2&tag=mh0b-20

Re: LS header choice for 57

i have a set of their long tube ls swap headers and they fit fine in my 55 frame with the flatout engineering corvette swap stuff. plenty of room to remove starter and oil filter without removing the headers. good luck. here is a picture.

Trailblazer SS Exhaust Manifolds fit tight to the block, plenty of clearance. You probably wont see any real benefit to long tube headers with the stock 6 liter, unless you just want the look.

Re: LS header choice for 57

Thanks for the information guys. I will probably go with the shorty headers from speed engineering. This 6.0 has been tweaked a little to 472 hp at the crank but looking for appearance at this point. I have never built anything like this before so everything is new to me. Thanks again. Steve

Thank You for the advise. I ordered the short headers from Speed Engineering. Will post how they fit. I imagine every conversion is a little different. I know I may have to trim the ears on the 4l80e trans. It looks like a lot of room but will know for sure soon. Steve
