whats up guys, i been around for a couple months but finally decided to make a thread introducing myself and my truck... she's a 61 short bed fleetside, has a 350/350 combo, B&M floor shifter, MSD ignition + cap n rotor, headers, weiman intake, Edelbrock carb, twin pipes to Flowmasters. shes my baby, bought her about 3 months ago... anyway, my name is Rick, n this is my first truck... so i have a ton of question

pics:

got her delivered, wasn't in running condition

one with the bug!

pics of the interior, came with a nice 60/40 but im changing it out...

pics of the engine, i got AC! lol (not really)

came with a holley carb, that i swapped out

i kinda messed up and started rattle canning the truck, with a blue that i didn't absolutely love, so now i have to sand it and spray it another color... i hate myself for doing this... its not ugly... but its not what i want... honestly i dont know what i want... i cant decide on a color... i really want a 2tone tho...

pics of some goodies i bought for the truck so far... also bought some "custom" cab trim... was real happy about that...

i painted the wheels myself... probly why they look crappy

Welcome to the forum. Nice ride to start with, just goes to show they're still out there. Looks like the previous owner put some effort into it. Looking forward to more updates.

haha I just got vertigo from swinging my head back and forth.

good looking start though! I want to see how you mount that second row seat, I thought about it because there are ext cab benches on CL for cheap, but I dont see how you would adjust it fore/aft

i threw up in my mouth, but I love the truck! Congrats, very nice.
Someone asked about seats - the ones IN the truck are early 90's Silverado. not sure about the leather ones pictured outside the truck. Cool - looking fwd to updates.

hahaha im real sorry about the pics guys. that made me dizzy too... i took them with my phone, and they wouldnt go in the right direction when i uploaded them to pb... so i kinda gave in and just posted them... but thanks for the comments... the previous owner did put some goodies, im thankful

...i like the old seat (didnt know it was from an old silverado, thanks!), but i think the black one will match better with whatever color i end up painting the truck... its actually out of a hummer, so its a little thicker than most second row seats, finding a way to mount it will be fun tho. only thing i dont like about the new seat is that the larger side is on the drivers side, and the single is on the passanger (___)(_) as opposed to (_)(___)... i'm gonna probably put the blue one for sale on CL... its cool cause its adjustable... and "gimmy 64" in the azusa/covina area... and thanks for the comments on the vw... thats my other baby

Welcome Rick, the guys on this forum can give you any info you can think of while working on you truck. It's like having an encyclopedia on 60-66s....oops, that shows how old I am. Is there still such a thing as an encyclopedia? I guess my head must be spinning, too.
