WTB: 1980-87 Steering Center Link

Have a 80s something drag link or center link on my 65, PO did a power steering swap and now I have the 80-something steering parts. . Is bowed a bit in the middle, could beat on it to straighten, but would rather find a NOS or less worn one ...

Can't find a new one to buy, apparently considered "not a wear item" ??

Thx!

Roy

Earlier years may be the same, I'm not sure...

Re: WTB: 1980-87 Steering Center Link

I think it might be the same from 73-87, but not 100% certain on that one.
My guess is it's not considered a wear part because all the wear parts bolt to it

Thanks, wasn't certain if '73-87 are the same...
was checking the idler arm location after putting in CaptainFab's PS bracket and noticed the center link was bowed a bit, kinda matching the curve of the crossmember. I assume it's supposed to be perfectly straight...

If you receive a pm from Rckjonas (account suspended), be aware… it seems fishy… tells you his buddy Jamie has the part you need. You email Jamie and arrange for shipping and payment via PayPal or whatever. Gives you a different PayPal email. Khairdahur@gmail.com
I didn’t send $… doesn’t smell right. Anyone else gotten pm from him?

That's why that account was suspended. Apparently, the user sent multiple PMs saying to email someone else. When did you first receive the PM from that user?

Also, good on you for sniffing it out and not sending your money to that scammer.

Some scammers have started using tactics to get around the usual scam/spam filter stuff that the site has. Liz gives them the boot as soon as they are discovered

Got a PM on 14-Apr-2022 (@3am now that I look back). I did google his username later and found it on the TurboBuick forum where he/she had just joined 8 minutes prior to my search so must be hitting all the forums...

Yup, definitely trying to hit anywhere they can.
I looked and that user sent three separate PMs on the 14th regarding "parts" that someone else had and to email that "person". Said user was promptly banned by Liz as soon as the first PM was reported on the 14th.

Again, thank you for being cautious and letting us know about the issue

Re: WTB: 1980-87 Steering Center Link

I had trouble too. Found one in a U-Pull yard close by. See this post-

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=831522

For interchangeability:
'73-'82 C10/20/30 are the same- GM p/n 6270303 - Rod, steering connector
'83-'86 C10/20/30 & '87-'91 R10/20/30 are the same- GM p/n 14067697 - Rod, steering connector
Not sure what the difference is between these 2 p/ns

Thanks! Glad you found one, one of the local yards closed, they had several of the 80s c10s, all gone now...
