I bought this truck for $250

It's a mess for sure. Boat not included (my assumption)! Body is shot. Stake bed probably has racoons and snakes in it! I plan to drag it home, and strip out the TH 350 to replace the 3 on the tree of my well restored '70. It has a GMC hood and a Chev grill, 5 lugs, PS, straight six, and 10 years of accumulated crap in it.

I'll keep you posted.

Mark

Re: I bought this truck for $250

It may definitely be worth something if it has the 6 cylinder brackets for the tv cable for the trans etc. The bracket's for 6 cylinder auto's are quite rare I understand. Original ones anyways.

It's got power brakes, the L6 over-slung aircleaner & the rare custom wood glovebox option...

The value of these trucks must have gone up. I bought my 70 for $250, 10 years ago and drove it home.

Maybe I read it wrong, but are you planning to use the TH350 as-is? Or is it going to get a teardown first?

Good deal.

You should be able to pull the parts you want to keep and then part the rest for more than what you paid.

Re: I bought this truck for $250

Update: $100 to have it towed home. I put the white truck into winter storage to make room for the "new" truck. I call it Scrapper.

I have had a fun time tearing off the front end. Love those pneumatic tools! Only thing left is the rad and bumper (well the engine and tranny is still in).

So I am trying to figure out how to wire the starter and ignition to try to test start the engine. The original wiring is shot. I just want to wire it temporarily. If anyone knows or has a schematic to help me that would be great.

Here's a couple more pics.

Mark

You scored on the inline power steering setup also. You won't have a problem selling those brackets $$

I have taken the front end off and yanked all the wiring. Next is to prep the engine for an attempt to crank her over.
