I finally finished my new Hot wheels display...

I began to run out of room for my loose trucks. I had been using a grill from a 91 Suburban. So the kids and I decided we would do something a little different. We went searching at a local salvage yard and came across this nice 74 Suburban with the grille still intact. $20 later we had a starting point. I know the 73-74 grille has been used numerous times but we added a little to it. Let me know what you think...

All assembled and painted..multiple layers from stain, white and sunset red.

Perfect! I love the 73/74 grilles best, but don't have that truck. I hate to be a copy cat, but....

Re: I finally finished my new Hot wheels display...

Saw a 73/74 grille laying across the isle from me at Carlisle last weekend, but didn't think I had a need for it. Thanks a lot for waiting till I'm up there to post this!

Just kidding. Thanks for the idea. I have some old Matchboxes (as in grey wheels) in an old wooden Coke case in my bedroom. My old log house I heat with wood with a neighbor's gravel driveway running real close by it is a dusty bin...unbelievably so! I'll have to do mine with a glass face. I have assorted thick glass saved for building cases, but prolly nothing the right size. I'll have to grab my wallet for that.

I'm currently adding lights to the display for a night feature . Let them shine a little.

Will they fit inside of a 71/72 grill? If so, I'm going to get one sometime this week. I need the space.

3 years later...NO they only fit in a few larger openings near the center.
