Re: 1966 Chevelle Build

Very Nice Cal, Daniel is heading back to Lemoore in April so we may be back over that way to visit in the next couple of years. I will let you know if we do and I might be able to come by and visit. Take care

Thanks Dieselwrencher! I think $4,200 was a good deal too. I don't see many 66 Chevelle around anymore so I was happy to run across this one for the price.

Well my old buddy, you know I would love it if you were not so far away. We could hang out in or man caves and help each other.

Did you paint the entire frame, or just from the firewall forward?
It's been cool, she's been going to more car shows with me now and watching all the car show and asking question.

Remember when we tried to mold in Tim's SS hood with bondo oh god, young and Dumb, Look I could swear this could be that hood !That made me remember the two different style SS hoods ,The scoops set low on one and the other set taller . Does anyone know why or what option would be the difference of the two?

Re: 1966 Chevelle Build

I wanted to paint the trunk before it went into the body shop so I cleaned out the trunk and sprayed it with speckle black, here's a picture.

Also today I took the Chevelle to Dave's Custom paint, he should be getting started in the next few weeks. He said four months, but will see.

It's not to bad at all. I do have two quarter size holes on the passenger side floor boards, other then that it's a solid car.

Re: 1966 Chevelle Build

The '66 Chevelle is my favorite car! I will be following your build. Just awesome to find that good of a car for that price.

I dig the 327s too. I would have had to retain the oil tube though. There is at least one Edelbrock intake that has the oil port molded in, but not cut out. A little machine work and the new school now looks old school. But that's just me.

I hear you man, but I really don't like that tube, it just looks out of place to me.
