I like the cactus too, I think it is cool. Just kind of struck me that way in that picture.

I looked up and saw a bright star shining…moving! The star of Bethlehem?? Nope, Turns out it was the International Space Station! That is the bright blip in the middle of photo 3. It made me ponder the insignificance of all of us…which reminded me that it is Pearl Harbor Day! From the top of our hill at the ranch I can see Mount Diablo, where they light a beacon every Dec 7th in memory of those lost at Pearl Harbor/WWII. This beacon was originally lit in 1928 as an aviation aid, but extinguished after the Pearl Harbor attack during the “west coast blackout” for fear it could lead the enemy to an attack. Now it is lit once a year, today. I took the quad up the hill and toasted our fallen heroes. The photo of the beacon was even worse than the ISS so you’re welcome for not posting.
OK enough rambling, my eternal thanks to those who served and are currently serving, thankfully not in wartime at the present.

That top photo is real nice. That space station is actually a UFO That's very cool. Speak of space & small, they're preparing to launch Hubble's replacement which they claim can even look at the first galaxies. May even prove alien life on other planets, there's already proof some are here

Ace Hardware had lights 20% off this weekend, and still had a great selection. I just needed a sting of 50 clear for my woodshed window

This is 34th St in Hampden, a neighborhood in Baltimore. The residents have been doing this for years. It has become quite an attraction. We used to take our kids down there to see it. I don't think you could buy a house on this block if you said you don't put up Christmas lights!

Hey Deland, I get nothing out of that link .

I'm on a country road, but the last (old place) in what was once a small community called West Falls, there are about half a dozen old places along the road. In recent years a couple of those sold to new owners and this year both have decorated their places very nicely. I liked how my place gave colorful light to a dark stretch of road and now we have a little string of lit up old places. I'll try to get a good picture of each

Re: Christmas Lights & Decorations '21

Been too busy working by myself and ran short of time to light up the house and shop this year. I have a 4' tall snowflake that I made that lights I hung up about 50' in one of the trees about 10 years ago. It quit working year before last & my boom truck has not been operational. I had to rent a lift yesterday to do some sign work and got done early so I figured I would swing by the house and fix it while I had the lift. Was not quite tall enough by itself so I had to improvise. I am the reason for your company safety meetings. Lol Momma was not happy when she saw me working on it. Luckily she did not see me replacing the top bulbs

I had to do the back yard twice. The fence next to my shed had to be redone after the wind took it down. I had a old sled trimmed with lights in the first picture . The last pic is the redo with my Bowtie instead .
