Thinking of Raffling off my 1972 GMC Jimmy.

Hi, Just throwing the idea around. So there would be 50 entrants at $1000.00 per spot and that would include delivery WITHIN the United States ONLY. Also includes extra parts for the JIMMY that i have collected through the years.

Let me know if anyone is interested. A few pics of the Jimmy are on my profile page for now.
(Remember this is just an idea for now). You can PM with your input.

Thank you.

Cliff

$1k is a bit high. Could you get more people at a lower price perhaps? There has to be an ideal number, I just don’t know what it is. Great idea though!

I like the idea too. Perhaps more people at a lower price like the poster above and maybe a cash prize for 2nd and 3rd place?

The other thing after thinking about it for a moment would be you would need a way to conduct the raffle in a manner to minimize any suspicion of it being rigged. Like having it go to another forum buddy or something. Not saying you would do that but to keep it as legit as possible.

I would recommend speaking to an attorney but unless you are a non profit it is illegal to raffle an item in California. It’s considered a game of chance.

Re: Thinking of Raffling off my 1972 GMC Jimmy.

People do the vehicle raffles frequently on Instagram. Generally they will draw the winner on a “live story” so everyone can see they are choosing a random winner honestly. Seems to work well.

That’s a beautiful Jimmy.

Don't know if this would fly on here or not. It states this in the rules.

Sellers Code of Conduct 67-72chevytrucks.com

I. All for sale or trade ads must include the price. If you do not know the price of the item(s) you are selling, then you should do some research. Absolutely no auctions or bids.

You would have to check with Josh or Liz on it.

People do it all the time, however it is illegal in most states. Just letting you all know. In NC and from what I read in Cal as well, you can not run a raffle unless you are a non profit. We have the no auctions and bids rule for this reason. It is a fun idea, maybe the op can get a non profit to sponsor it.
