Adding door switches for curtesy lights

I am considering adding door switches for courtesy lights.
Did any of the 67 to 72 trucks come with the door switches installed?
Are the switches a standard tap size?
How do you run the wire out from the inside of the panel to the interior?
My truck has the boss in the body but it isn't drilled.
Thank
Rick

The higher trim trucks (Cheyenne and Cheyenne super for sure) have them factory, you can buy the switches and harness plug and play. I would get the blazer style floor courtesy lights setup if I were you. That’s what I’m adding to my Cheyenne K20. The kit below is the blazer style lights but it also runs the dome light too.

Re: Adding door switches for curtesy lights

I have the same kit listed in your url.
Only mine was included in the American auto wiring kit.
Only difference is no switches were included in the kit.
Still interested in how the factory did the wiring routing.

Door switches are available from Napa. Give me a bit and I’ll dig up the par number. The wires go thru the kick panel, I can post pictures in a bit as well.

Re: Adding door switches for curtesy lights

Thanks 57taskforce.
Just what I was looking for.
My package of misc grommets just arrived.
Looks like I will get to put a couple to use soon.
The Board is such a great resource.
Thanks everyone.
