Progress is progress! At least when the trucks set out in your neck of the woods they aren't all rotted out like around here.

Re: My 72 K10 4x4

I am spliting my time up as well between taking breaks for my broken leg and gathering and salvaging parts for starting to build my 68 back up into a c10 she used to be
I have enough to put both on the road and plan to try have them running before snow flies

Re: My 72 K10 4x4

Pulled a rebuilt engine from a truck was thinking of using it short term in the 72

I did not realize it was an two piece rear main seal engine
my new engine is a 1 piece rear main block not wanting to buy 2 clutch for this truck

My son and daughter helped clean up the engine and paint and re gasket it

Re: My 72 K10 4x4

Well that's it for things sandblasted and using air tools

Dam 3000 dollar industrial electric motor starter breaker never closed properly now cooked my compressor motor it was supposed to protect

it started the compressor fine I went to work sandblasting my brackets I ran out of air went back to see what the issue was ....

Re: My 72 K10 4x4

Sorry to hear about your electrical problems. Wow, 3k Must have been an enclosure + installation and wiring. Replacing just the magnetic starter should only be a couple hundred dollars. Would definitely check breaker amperage and wire size if the motor in the compressor was cooked.

Re: My 72 K10 4x4

I am an industrial electrician and was givin it by one of my employers when we closed the mine

Yes it is a complete industrial stand alone mag starter assembly with spring return hand off auto postions

I have to adjust and locktite the handle
And yes the breaker and overloads are sized according to the compressor

Re: My 72 K10 4x4

I have not worked on it much lately still healing my busted leg
Did get some new to me wheels on it last fall and my son cleaned out the box for me
We had planed to drag it into the shop over the winter but complications stopped that

Now that its warming up and the truck is not buried under 3 feet of snow

Decided last summer to wait and put in the new 350 into her rather then use the 350 my son and I pulled due to having to buy a second clutch pack new roller cam block is 1 piece rear main seal the block out of the 92 is a 2 piece rear main seal we will stick that in another truck at some point it was rebuilt a few years before that truck was parked
