Do it! You won't regret it, and the hunt is the best part.

All opinions matter. My 10-year-old daughter also begged me to keep the headrests. They were the perfect height to fit her head while she was resting in the cab. She is mad at me now.

Looks fantastic! How does it feel on longer trips? I usually find back seats much less comfortable than fronts.

Im in the same situation as you, 36 inseam with bad hips, knees and back. I swapped in some early 2000 superduty buckets, they sit upright and that's a problem. If I recline them I lose leg room. I cant drive more than an hour with out pain or numbing in my body. The trick would be to move the pedals forward. That king ranch seat looks great, good job.

Re: My King Ranch seat swap

I had a king Ranch F150 crew cab new back in 2001. It had buckets front and rear, it also had power pedals in it that that you could move up and down. I don't believe they even have that option anymore, but it may be nice installed in one of our trucks for tall or even short people.

Yes, adjustable pedals would solve a lot of problems for us!

Re: My King Ranch seat swap

That looks fantastic! Saw a full set of king ranch seats locally on facebook marketplace last night. If I could get the guy to sell the front buckets and console separate from the bench back seat I'd love to do this myself.

Re: My King Ranch seat swap

I have been looking and there is a set on eBay for 699 right now. I’m still debating on the way to go with my seats. This is a contender. For me I would be open to use f250/350/450 lariat/platinum seats.

I generally like a stock interior look but I've got to admit that looks pretty awesome. Really nice looking leather and seems to fit in there real well too.

Re: My King Ranch seat swap

I found this post and had to try the King Ranch seats in my 72 30 tow truck. I call it the Tow Rider. I picked up the back seat out of a King Ranch for $75 from my local salvage yard. They fit perfect.

Re: My King Ranch seat swap

I removed the in cab gas tank and installed one under the tow bed. That gave me an additional few inches for gut room. I also released the back lever and positioned the back to be more vertical (less of the recline), that allowed me to push the seat back further. Keep I'm mind if you make the seat more vertical, the arm rest stop will have to be modified to be level with the seat. The cargo platform under the seat was also removed (it was unnecessary and reduced a little weight). My upholstery guy told me to use baby vaseline to recondition the seats. He said apply and let it soak in then wipe off. Scrubbing Bubbles with a microfiber cloth was used to clean the leather.

Re: My King Ranch seat swap

Hang onto the headrest. A good upholsterer can use it for material if you want to recover the logo or even the headrest holes.

Same here. I finally settled on a seat from a '92 GMC.

I thought the same as we don’t have my yards here in Hawaii. I was on a craigslist search engine and this guy was parting his king ranch. He bought it for the motor. I bought both front and rear for $500 and then my friend gave me $300 for the fronts. They need work, but that’s what I like about this leather, it has the raw look to it.
