Remade my stake sides in maple

Well...I never considered myself a stake-bed kind of guy. But when I bought the truck (67 C10) 2 weeks ago, it had some old crusty stake sides in white oak and there was something about it. It grew on me. So this weekend I decided to remake the stakes and rails in maple. I think the blonde wood is a nice contrast with the color/patina of the truck. Thought you guys might be interested to see. Cheers!

Nice looking '67. And the stake sides sure do compliment your pride and joy. Welcome to the clan!

Looks great, I like how you put the fasteners out of sight.

Beautiful truck and your workmanship is commendable. But I would have made them a bit taller. The only time I see them used today by me is during firewood gathering. You see some real tall ones then...

Nice Ride and a panoramic cab to boot. Side boards look nice on the old work horse.

Nice. I like the stakes. Thinking about some on our '72 C20. We're running the spare in the bed also.

Re: Remade my stake sides in maple

That is very nice Red. I have seen an unpainted furniture guy who has side boards on his pickup with his business name and logo burned into the planks. It looks real good too. His boards are a bit taller but you get the picture.
