Back in the'70s, a buddy of mine made some out of 3/8'' plywood. He traced out the metal panel then trimmed off the sheets. He then took a router freehand, and milled out wood where it would interfere with the door relay and window crank action. Still running them. A coat of Old English furniture every so often, and they're good.
I used the OEM door panel screws for years, til I lost so many, that I replaced them with 1/4-20 flush head screws.
