tire size
so i had 255-70r15 tires on my 71 c10 long bed stock suspenion, it has 15x10 crome ralleys the tire shop apperantly could not get 255 70 15s to seat, as the wheels where 2 wide so they put 255/65r15 on it i hate that they dont really fill the wheel wells up and they ride hard as a brick i was thinking about a 265/70r15 or 275/60R15 what are yal running?

I'm no tire wiz but seems they didn't really do the right thing for you. Wouldn't a 265/70/15 have been a better attempt? I used to run 275/??/15 on my stock 68. Maybe what they put on was all they had in stock? EDIT: I'm currently look at tires as well and can tell you I wish I was buying 15s: 4 choices on tirerack between 488 and 540 shipped. -klb

I would go to a different tire store next time. Both tires are 255 so it should make little difference in seating. But, in any case 10" is way to wide for a 255 tire. You need a wider tire or a narrower rim.
If you want to keep your rims, see if you can fit a 275 or 285/60/15. |

Change your wheels to some 8's. One of the biggest mistakes people make IMO with the stance/look of these trucks is 15x10 wheels in the front. They just stick out too far. The taller tire of the 70 series and the narrower 8" rim will make your truck look better IMO.
But 17's the best mod I've done on my truck.
