Column shift indicator 700R4

My 67 has one of the 700R transmissions in it, the four-speed automatic. Is a column shift indicator available that has the four speeds on there? I've been searching Google and I'm finding him for Camaros and stuff but I haven't been able to find one for my 67 Chevy truck.

I've only seen them for tilt columns. I don't think the 67-70 lens is big enough to have all four gears marked on it. I've got a 700R4 in my truck, and the pointer is way to the right of the lens in 1st gear. I have it so D lines up with 4th gear. That way the safety detents line up correctly. I can shift between N and 4th without pulling back on the shifter. Shifting to either 3rd or R requires pulling back.

From what pjmoreland said you would have to modify the ratio of the linkage.

Thanks guys. I fixed ( sort of ) my indicator and made a hens tooth pointer for now. Guess I'll live with it.

If you were to adjust the ratio with the Lokar kit, then the safety detents built into the column would be spaced too far apart. The detent plate on a non-tilt column is external, so it could be accessed easily for modifications (welding, grinding). I don't know how the internal detents in a tilt column work.

I agree. I have complected several Over Drive conversions and never changed out the pointer. Manual low is just off the chart. The stock column indicator doesn't have to be explained, in any way, to a new driver. In reality I might use 1st gear once a year if at all. I believe the indicator is good for bragging rights. Like the shift knob that has 5 or 6 gear on it. Bottom line is the stock indicator will work just fine and cause no safety or drive-ability issues.
Full disclosure, my latest project has a tilt column and I purchased the OD indicator. My vanity won. LOL.

Haha. I don't blame you. I did the same thing on a '72 that I put a 700R4 and tilt column in. Back then, there was a brief period of time when the OD tilt lenses were selling for insane prices until multiple vendors started selling them. For some reason I don't remember how the detents ended up lining up with the indicator lens. It must not have been too far off because otherwise it would have bugged me!
