One for the Book On Tilt Install

Just Install Tilt In my 71. Anyone who is doing this upgrade
using a Tilt from a 70's to early 80's van. Make sure you have
the Back-up/neutral switch when you remove the column from
the Van. I pulled one from a 74 GMC STX. and the switch was
mounted on the side of the tranny(Get all the wiring and the linkage to just in case you need it From the tranny). That's if your have a T350 tranny. It will save you another trip to the bone yard. Also a good Web site Is Shane's 67-72 Chevy Page.

i ran into the same problem

i just swapped the old switch over after some fabrication.
i cut a slot in the column, then i bent the piece that came out to match the arm that operates the switch, next i attached the bent piece to the gear selector shaft, and finally i attached the switch to the outer column then i was done.
had to do this b/c the person who pulled the column didn't get the switch of the tranny.

Tilt Install

Where were you when I need you yesterday. I had to go back to the Bone yard and pull the switch off the Van. that's a 50 mile round trip each time. Lesson learned
