Top of Dash Paint Question

I tried this question on the Blazer/Jimmy forum and got varying answers so I want to give it a whirl here. For 1971, is the top of the dashboard between the dash pad and the windshield supposed to be painted:

1. Regular gloss body color
2. Matte body color
3. Black
4. Something else

My Jimmy is ochre with a black dash pad.

TIA.

Re: Top of Dash Paint Question

Matte finish to reduce glare off the inside of the windshield , place a white piece of paper on any dash in the sun and all you'll see is the reflection of the lighter color .

Re: Top of Dash Paint Question

Interior color in a matte finish. Interior color being color of dash pad. Dash pad matches seat, door panels, steering wheel, and column, unless truck has tilt wheel. Then, pad is black to match wheel and column, and that area will be matte black
