Raptor Tintable Bedliner

Hi, I am ready to spray the tintable raptor bedliner on the bottom, lower plenums and partway up the firewall of the 57 I am doing. I had some base coat made with no binders and prepped everything by sanding with 180. Looking for people who have shot it and what to guard against. How much overspray will there be? I will be using the body shutz gun that came with it. Just have never shot this stuff before and not trying to make a mess. Thanks Steve

well , its gonna make a mess..no way out of that,, i would bag the truck only leaving what your spraying visible.. and do it outdoors if possible..
the fumes are kinda strong..be sure to wear a respirator and clothes you dont care about..i use tyvek coveralls when i spray
ive sprayed several diff kinds.. lizardskin, raptorliner, linerextreme, and a couple others i cant remember the name of

Re: Raptor Tintable Bedliner

Yea. I shot Lizard skin on inside for heat/sound. I masked 12" out. Didn't realize the overspray mess that still happened.
Someone asked me how it sprayed out. I said " I't's like shooting paper mache out of a rubber flexible straw on medium to heavy pressure. Pure mess".

Re: Raptor Tintable Bedliner

Thanks for the tips guys. I have some 3M sheet plastic and will cover the rest of the cab with that. I do have 18" paper already so that is a good start. I really can't get it outside right now so will do it in the shop. I will try to put some cardboard on the floor to limit the mess and tin foil on the rotisserie. I watched a couple of youtube videos that show them spraying on a truck bed and it did not look awful going on. I will find out. Once I get this done I can then put the cab back on the chassis for the last time. Steve

Re: Raptor Tintable Bedliner

I sprayed the raptor today. Good call on covering the whole truck. It wasn't awful to spray. I kept a fan going to get some fumes out and wearing my respirator. There are some pics posted on my build thread. It could have been darker but not bad. I am happy with it. Steve

I have also added extra basecoat and reducer to the Raptor tinted liner..measure 4-1...and just about equal amount of paint mixing it in cups (needs to be mixed really well) and then spraying with hvlp gun 1.8 tip. You get more of a matte finish, goes on nicely over epoxy. Places like top of dash and inside bed walls, sprayed over gas tube cover. Plenty of overspray, no help there.

Thanks for the tips. I mixed mine in 1qt paint cups then poured back in bottle to spray. I am happy with how it came out. This was the first time I sprayed bed liner. I am also going to use it on the underside of the bed sides, rear wheelhouses, inner fenders and front fenders. Steve

Re: Raptor Tintable Bedliner

Looks good. I love this stuff. Seeing more and more trucks and cars "painted" entirely with tinted bedliner. I used it on mine for bed, running boards, under fenders, bumpers and as "chip guards" on outside bottom fenders. Can be touched up with just rustoleum if you do get a chip. Would consider doing whole truck if i could get it in "air force blue".
