DEAL ALERT: 1968 C/10 restomod at barret jackson on thursday

This is not a for sale post.

I built this truck back in 2016 with the help of this group. Unfortunately, I never had the time to do a build thread. I sold it last summer for $40K to what turned out to be a high end car flipper. He's running it across the auction block this thursday close to some other well know builds off this site.

This could be a steal of a deal due to the fact that I never did any paint work and its a good 20 footer in appearnce. Mechanically, IT IS DIALED!

Link to the auction.

Kinda cool, but it will sell for more than it's worth. Not my definition of a deal, but I'm sure the buyer will think so.

based on Mecum sales last week, I wouldnt be surprised. He sold $5.5 mil worth of cars/bikes last may. so hes just playing around at this point. I have a buddy there this week. If it goes for under $xxK, ill buy it back.

Turns out he got what I sold it to him for, minus shipping & 10% to Barret Jackson.

Now, I have a NEW Cover Craft indoor car cover I need to find a new home for. I never got a chance to install it. Anyone looking for one 1/2 off?

If the guy bought it for $40k and Sold it for $44k, he lost money.
The Auctioneer fees are 15%, (I think, And I think there’s other fees too), so if that’s the case, seller’s take home was around $37k
This doesn’t include the advertising, marketing, and transportation fees
Beautiful Truck though, and a well done build.

I've ever bought at the high end auctions...most around here are 10% buyer premium....I suppose "you gotta pay to play"...

He definately lost $5-6K, 10% BJ seller fees plus shipping. Internet buyer bought it. He will be happy with how it sounds/drives. I never had a thing go wrong with it after I completed the build other than fuel level senders getting wiped out from all the G's.
