wheel size.

69 k10 suburban, 2 inch lift.

trying to decide if 15 inch wheels would work, or do I need 16s? i want to fill the wheel well and avoid the look I see semi often where the tires just look too small.

what are you all running on yours? any pics of 15 and 16s on a k10?

Re: wheel size.

15's would work, but the the tire choices are getting slimmer these days for 15" wheels.

On my K20 burb I run 16x8 OE style steel wheels from Wheel Vintiques and they are very similar to what I had on there originally which were 16.5 wheels.

For a k10... I have a k10 PU, and for some reason 15x8 OE wheels for a 6 lug are hard to find and expensive. You can find 15x6 OE wheels, but 6" wide is a bit small for a lifted rig.

If not going stock OE, then there are modern wheels to choose from all day I think. 15" gives you more sidewall flex which softens the ride a bit more.

Re: wheel size.

thanks for the input. I would really run anything that allowed me to use the original hub caps. so an aftermarket wheel would work, if it accepted the hub cap.

your vintage wheel allow for this?

Re: wheel size.

The Wheel Vintiques OE wheels have nubs for the stock hubcaps.
Never tried hubcaps for my burb, but I've seen others use them.
Check them out, but be cognizant of your desired offset when ordering.

Re: wheel size.

The challenge with 15” rims is so few tire choices. But BFG offers a 33 10.5 15 that would look great and fill up the wheel well. Would be best on an 8” rim, but will work just fine on a 7” wide wheel also.

EDIT: Looks like BFG may not have that size anymore but General does in the Grabber X3

Re: wheel size.

You can search out CUCV wheels that are 15x8. I found a set of 5 relatively quickly on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace last year. I also have a 2" lift and am running 33x10.5 BFGs, which are the perfect size for the wheels and the truck, in my opinion.

Thanks for the size recommendations, was going to bfgs just was not sure of size. You are right they are the perfect tire for a lifted burb. Now I just need some original wheels, though these don’t look bad..

Re: wheel size.

From the look of the photo, it looks like you could also benefit from ORD's 1" Zero Rate Add a Leaf that allows you to move your axle back 1" or 1.5" to center it in the wheel well. I needed the same.

Re: wheel size.

My K10 has the 15x8 factory wheels with 33-10.50s and 4" lift which is too much IMO.
If ww3 doesn't screw us up I'm putting 2 inch Alcans on this year
