A Day 2 C10 40 years to late

Hello; my name is Andrew. I am the proud third owner of a 1969 c10, 307, three on the tree. I have had this truck for a little over a year now I bought it a week before my 22 birthday, at the time it was sporting 36,000 original miles and resided on a local peach farm. I am currently daily driving it 365 days a year and using it as a support truck for my 1971 Dodge Demon drag car. The truck has been use as a push truck for Kings & Marshall top fuel dragster. In having sat on the side lines for years its time to wake this old girl up. So here is the plan; First being it is a little 307 I am planning on breathing some fire in it, by putting 305 58cc heads off a dirt track car .026 head gaskets for about 10:1, a comp CS XE268H-10 cam with roads lifters and roller tip rockers Edelbrock C3B dual plane, 600 Holley, and headers. The ignition is a MSD digital A6 triggered by a recurved GM points dizzy and a Mallory canister coil. Second the interior is needing a little bit of a touch up, new mat recover the seat and other small things. Third and for me most importantly is detail, restore, and clean/ maintain a daily driver that is show quality (my drag car has won almost every car show it enter including goodguys young guys award 2014 as well as having been featured in numerous publications) My goal is to make it comparable to the car but still enjoy it every day with out hesitation. Also just to make it clear built the car in a dirt floor tent on a shoe string budget with little to no financial help from anyone so I plan on keeping this theme with the truck I have always had to work hard so I can play hard unlike a lot of my generation. So I hope you guys and gals will enjoy this thread and let it bring you back to a simpler place and time with a day 2 period correct build.

Welcome to the board Andrew! You have a great foundation for an exceptional
truck and I'm looking forward to watching you both turn back the clock for this beauty!
