Motorcycle Cannonball

a bunch of 90 plus year old bikes racing from the Canadian border to the Mexico border. It happens every 2 years and this years race starts on 9/9 (Sault Sainte Marie) and ends on 9/26 (South Padre Island).

I'm finally going to get to watch them come through Texas. If you get a chance you should go out and watch them. It's amazing to think of a 100 year old bike making that kind of distance.

Re: Motorcycle Cannonball

I see they are making stops in Tunica, MS and Arkadelphia, AR. May see if the wife wants to make a road trip one of those days or if my antique Harley buddy in Memphis might want to meet in Tunica.

Re: Motorcycle Cannonball

They say that more specific times and routes will be released closer to the event. I guess thats because the riders have to navigate by paper map, no GPS.

Re: Motorcycle Cannonball

Interesting, now that you mention this event seems like maybe they came through Wichita, KS a few years ago. I remember seeing some incredible old motorcycles driving through and I always wondered what the event was.

Re: Motorcycle Cannonball

It was freaking fantastic. After talking to the riders I now have a new goal.
The winner was on a single cylinder, single speed 1911 bike and he made it 3,300 miles on that thing.
