Re: 69 long fleet- First build
Thanks for the response guys... I think I will go with the same idea as VA72C10 and do the hammered rattle can. If I get it chipped, it will be as easy to repair as anything else. Plus, I am not going for the smmoooth look as Slick67 mentioned.
I hope to have it painted soon, if the weather ever warms above freezing

Good progress! It looks to me like you have plenty of room to work in your shop. Hey you have space all the way around it. You better watch out for child labor laws!

Careful Grunt, free food offers may get more help than you want!!! The frame is lookin good. A little paint, a few lollipops and cookies, and it will be done before you know it!!!

Re: 69 long fleet- First build
Looks good to me! X2 on the spray can rustoleum. I have been using some self etching primer that will prevent it from rusting until I can actually start on body work. Then I will switch to a car grade epoxy primer.

Re: 69 long fleet- First build
I was able to get a few things done this weekend.. I picked up a spot blaster from a "truckload sale" for $5! Small, but it works. I got the upper arms done and in paint (stealing the color scheme from VA72C10 )...I just really wanted to see some color for motivation!! Should have time to work some more this week... hopefully (supposed to be cold, tho )

That paint looks good! I wonder how it will hold up? It looks just like powder coat. Sweet!

Re: 69 long fleet- First build
Thanks guys! Its nice to know someone is looking
I hope the paint holds up..I have put it on fairly thick and will do the same on the frame, only black. From what Jonathan has said, it should. Besides, its just paint and can be touched up if needed

Re: 69 long fleet- First build
The frame looks really good! You probably already said but what paint are you using? How do you think it will hold up?thanks
ps, your springs definetly look orange....not the best color for this area.
