American Classic

Has any one had any luck ordering parts from AmericanClassic.com? I placed an order on April 2 for 3 shift indicator pointers and 3 rubber trim pieces for the column .I promptly received an e-mail with the order number. Weeks passed and I receive no follow up e-mail or tracking info so I tried to call the number on the email with no success next I email them and i get a response that they don't have enough to full fill my order and it will be three weeks before they will come in . I waited 4 weeks expecting my order to be fulfilled.I emailed then again and got a condescending email back saying i need to wait and I didn't reply to their email .So i emailed them again explaining i didn't appreciate the nasty email . So there response was to cancel my order .
I can get the same parts from LMC but the seem more expensive.
Where else can I get column parts for a 70s chevvy van tilt column?

Re: American Classic

They obviously did not have the parts in stock and their supplier did not either. Why not just tell you that and offer to cancel if you can't wait. I can't imagine they are so busy they can blow off customers.

Note to suppliers: a lot of people will place a small order to gauge stuff like service, communication, etc. before popping for the big one. Just because its small does not mean its not important or can be discounted. I have built my business on doing the small projects lots of people would not do when times were good. They worked into larger jobs and now I have a big enough customer base that I am staying alive. Others that would not do the small work can't buy a job now.

Look at Performance On Line and Yogi's I think they have the indicator/shift parts. POL does not have all their stuff on the online catalog.

Re: American Classic

I want to give my business to someone that appreciate me as a customer.I'm just starting my restoration and probably would have spent several hundred dollars with them . Oh well their loss. Thanks for all the great info. I give them a try.
