Jumper Box for Vehicle / No Batttery?

I am a Gadjet Collector

My MIL calls it Gadjet Guru

I just bought one of these from Ama Zon.
It will be here in a Minute

It is a Christmas present so I won't be able to give feedback till then

Has anyone purchased one of these?

Re: Jumper Box for Vehicle / No Batttery?

I've never seen that one. I like that it's compact. I have one of the bigger/bulky ones. With multiple cars it's been invaluable. Something's always going dead.

I am also a gadget collector. I have so many kitchen gadgets that i have to keep the overflow in the garage. And I forget what I have.

I recently bought a pressure cooker and my wife reminded me that we already have one. OOPS.

I hope it works like they say. I'll buy one. It looks handy.

Nice present. My wife bought me a full length raccoon coat.

She has one Nice and warm. I "borrowed' hers once because I was freezing my azz off. This one is a beautiful coat but I look like a pimp in it

What do I care. It's warm.

That's very cool, you are going to like it.
I carry a Noco Genius gb50 jump pack. These little things are incredible, sometimes technology is a good thing.

That was almost my choice for Momma.
It was between the noco and hulkman till I saw this one.

I have the GooLoo jumper box.

I was going to buy a different brand ,Just because

Then I seen this one that (Doesn't need charging).

We will see,
I got stuff to check it for sure.

Re: Jumper Box for Vehicle / No Batttery?

I just looked that Autowit up. WOW . That's not the same thing [at all]. As long as your battery isn't too dead, that thing looks like a life saver.

I generally charge up my Noco about once a month to make sure it has a full charge, that is a minor annoyance. The Noco started my plow truck when the battery was so dead that the dome light wouldn't come on, so that's cool.

99% of the time, I think the Autowit would do the job (as long as you don't leave your dome light on for 6 weeks, like I did). I really like the no maintenance aspect of the Autowit.
I am on my second Noco, I now have the larger gb50. I got 5 years out of the first one, it was a GB-40. It never failed me, but the performance was noticeably decreased.
The gb40 was stolen out of my truck ...Joke's on them, it was almost dead.

Next time I'm jump pack shopping, I might just look into the Autowit.
Pretty cool.

Re: Jumper Box for Vehicle / No Batttery?

Searched and found this older thread. Im looking at getting a Jump Box. My battery charger died and I just need something to boost start an occasional car or truck.

Looking at the NORCO GB50 ... https://www.amazon.com/NOCO-GB50-Ult.../dp/B07MVY7K43

Or the NORCO GB40 ... https://www.amazon.com/NOCO-GB40-Ult.../dp/B015TKUPIC

Any reason to spend the extra 50 bucks for the GB50? I feel like the 40 should be fine for what Im hoping is limited use. Not looking at any other starters, narrowed it down to these two only.

Re: Jumper Box for Vehicle / No Batttery?

For our trucks with stock 350 and good electricals the 40 should be fine but if you have a sluggish starter with a full battery it may not start it.

Re: Jumper Box for Vehicle / No Batttery?

I have this one, bought it in march, charged it up, and it was still fully charged when I used it a couple days ago. My 05 Silverado was totally dead, no lights, buzzers or anything. This thing cranked it over instantly like it had a brand new battery. The box was still almost fully charged after starting.

I was at work and went out and my truck was deader than dead in the parking lot.

We had a garage for the fleet. So I walked over and asked the mechanics for a jump. I knew them and they were cool and said sure.

I was expecting a truck but this guy walked up with this little box thingy. I had never seen one but it fired the completely dead truck right up.

I immediately bought one after that and have never regretted it.

Re: Jumper Box for Vehicle / No Batttery?

I just purchased NOCO units for both my son and daughter. Number of factors: 1) easier to store than jumper cables, 2) less dangerous to vehicle electronics, 3) ability to self rescue.

Now I just have to get one for my wife and myself!

Re: Jumper Box for Vehicle / No Batttery?

I purchased a Gooloo jump box from Amazon for my wife`s car and it`s works great. Had it a couple of years and a half dozen jumps. I seldom charge it and it`ll do a couple of jumps per charge easy. My wife feels safer knowing she can jump her car and not be stranded. Great investment.

The Autowit that I started this post about is nothing but a battery checker
If the battery is really low, it will Not work.
Maybe I got a Dud.

I read this thread and it makes me realize maybe I should consider getting a jump box. I know about them and have seen them, but never considered buying one. Not a bad Idea. I've always carried cables but there isn't always another vehicle available and these days many are no good for jump starting

There needs to some voltage in the battery. You can use a cell phone or another car to get the capacitor to full voltage. Then jump the car

What`s not to like. You don`t have to jockey cars around to line up the batteries, so the cable will reach. They have a bright LED light, so you don`t need to carry a flashlight (besides your phone). USB outlets to charge phones or other devices.

Re: Jumper Box for Vehicle / No Batttery?

I went ahead and purchased the GB40, after reading a million (give or take) reviews I think its going to be perfect for my use. I don't consider it cheaping out, I'm just being frugal =)

Its already here and getting a full charge. Ugh dont you just hate it when you order something and it doesnt come until the next morning haha. Man we are freaking spoiled!!!

Instant gratification, I know its not good for you, but that only applies to other people ... Not Me!
