Re: PO has me PO'd

Jim,
Are you talking about the screw that holds the handle on? I can pull one out later today and take a look (I think i still have one)

Are you going with an in bed style tank or under body? I might be able to hook you up with some in bed hickey tanks if needed.

Richard

Yes Richard I was referring to the screw that holds the handle on (countersunk)Also, I was thinking a tank to help fill up the space under my 1/2 top, where the bulk head went. what are the demensions (spelling?)of the hickey tank?

Re: PO has me PO'd

It's interesting to see the valve opened up. If that one doesn't work for any reason I think these are still available new and I recall seeing them for marine applications. I don't know the Hickey tank dimensions but FWIW I had a Blazer with a period correct 40 gallon tank, which I think can still be had.

Phillips countersunk head like these https://www.mcmaster.com/91802a194

Here is a picture or 2 of the actual tanks I am talking about. I am not 100% he is ready to sell, nor price but I can ask him if you are interested and put you in contact

So, are you now referred to as "deadhead minn.", get ready for the cold, lol.

Just saw a 38 gallon go up for sale by CIblazer, not quite what I had in mind, looking to have a diamond plate one made up to fit in the area of my bulk head area.

Thanks for the tip on buying a new one , if this one fails

Man, you talk about a varnish build up, can you imagine what his carb. looks like

Re: PO has me PO'd

I'd change it if possible. I'll take the snow and cold over the crime in ABQ any day. It helps that I can start my daily driver from my phone - toasty when I climb in

crime sucks, I agree with key fob starts, hope I can adapt that to my Jimmy, I'd like to get On-Star, just buy their system?

Any way, got the valve apart, wasn't bad inside, the shaft may be worn

these Q tips work great, but the carb cleaner, Is under high pressure, use PPE. If you hit a deadend this sh!t is coming back at you and it BURNS

Re: PO has me PO'd

was at the shop today, installed radiator, stood back and looked at it. Not impressed with the routing of the hoses, or how I cobbled them together...
Update needed to resolve. ordered some SS pipe, clamps and sleeves. will have to wait for the pcs. to come in, worst part of a build is waiting on parts

Re: PO has me PO'd

Got some new ideas for my coolant system, picked up the mandrel 'J' bend, cut to fit. also silacon sleeves and clamps

as you can see a bit cobbled, new system should work much better

Nope got the shortest belt, this thing is ss, pita to machine, 12 bucks saves me time to work on other problems. The alt. is right up against the electric water pump mount

plus I would have to buy LH and RH taps

But, thanks for the thoughts
