Re: 67 Vermillion Red CST Build

No nothing recently. I had a joint fusion and bone graft surgery in my foot in the spring due to an old injury. That pretty much put me out of commission for all the good weather this year. I started insulating my garage this fall but was not able to get it done before it got cold. Yes I am a wimp when it comes to doing hobbies in the cold.

Ok, was just curious. I've finally gotten onto mine. Just got the frame painted. Now short on funds. Lol. Ain't that the way it goes?

Re: 67 Vermillion Red CST Build

Totally. I just spent 3500 bucks on concrete. Could have bought some nice parts with that.

Is there any metal left? to make the pinch weld usable??? Of course after grinding away the rust...Hop my 67 is not like that.

I am needing to spend about same amount of $$$ on concrete, I am hoping for less than $3500.00...

The pinch welds are good. Typical rust around the drip rail but it is solid. The windshield opening is solid, no rust except for one spot on the bottom corner drivers side.

The cowl is the worst thing. Floors are good, cab supports are good but the rockers and cab corners are rusted through. I have all of the new metal, just got to get it done.

I was really hoping to get the garage fully insulated an heated for this winter but I just ran out of time.

I also have another project that I put some time into this last summer. It is the other brand. A 76 F250 Camper Special. My cousins gave it to me after their Mom passed away. It is in quite good shape.

Re: 67 Vermillion Red CST Build

My favorite F word is free and that green truck came to you at the right price. Can’t turn those down.

I have a similar 67 in my shop with the same color combination only mine is a custom cab. Still has 283 with three speed on the column. I have similar rust issues and am guessing my cowl area will look too much like yours when I get it pulled apart.

Nice project and should be fun.

Re: 67 Vermillion Red CST Build

Would the cousins dis own you if you slipped a big block or an LSx in the F*</?
I built a Shelby Cobra replica with an LS1 20 years back, and just loved to watch the faces cringe when a ford lover would look under the hood. Priceless

Good thing about your newly acquired rebuilt dodge, is that it has disc brakes, even though they are engineered by the "F" folks.

Many folks love those pickups, I have no idea why...what engine???
