Aftermarket aluminum radiator, fan and shroud kits

I'm at the point of needing to buy a radiator for our project. It's gonna be 1970 C20 with a massaged 350, Tremec 5 speed, a/c, p/s, p/b, which will be used as a daily driver, plus pulling a racecar on an open trailer on race weekends.

What radiator/fan/shroud kits have you guys bought, and why should I buy the same or stay away from?

Re: Aftermarket aluminum radiator, fan and shroud kits

Don't fall for that "4 rows is better" routine. Get you a two row with at least 1" tubes. I've got one 16" spal fan with a shroud sucking through a EPC found here https://speedcooling.com/1967_1972_C..._Radiator.html

Another good option is the CC found here https://www.coldcaseradiators.com/pr...case-radiators

Dewitts makes a nice rad, but is WAY WAY overpriced.

I've had no problems with the Champions in the past on other vehicles.

Run what you have until you see what it does, is my recommendation. These trucks were rated to pull the weight and keep cool. Never mind that I have a Cold Case aluminum radiator, a larger fan and custom shroud and a severe duty fan clutch. I was chasing a gremlin that ended up being flow, which a simple high-flow thermostat took care of.

Re: Aftermarket aluminum radiator, fan and shroud kits

Cold case is ok . I have one ready to go for my 72 but I bought it at the Syracuse nationals from them so it was only $250 fans , wiring and shroud no shipping . But I never put it in as the copper rad keeps it nice and cool

Dewitts aren’t overpriced in my opinion . I have one in my 66 SS Chevelle over 5 years it replaced a champion that lasted 4 weeks . Leaked at the seam they sent another and it leaked from the get go . The Dewitt fit perfectly unlike the champion that needed mounting holes elongated to fit ,minor issue but shouldn’t have to modify a new radiator. There is no comparison in quality between the 3 the Dewitt wins hands down

Dewitts are American made in Michigan .
