Dark Olive interior paint?

So Ive read a few threads here looking for info. A couple threads did point to a particular paint. But Im not finding anything from anyone that actually used dark olive paint and did their 72 door panels or console.

Im only interested in dark olive, I have seen threads with lots of other colors including a lighter green that have turned out nice.

Anyone actually finished one up in dark olive? If so what did you end up using and what was the process ... Thanks!

Re: Dark Olive interior paint?

Here's a 1970 I did a while back. I used a single stage enamel, though I can't remember which brand.

I used this on my door panels for my 72 Dark Olive interior. Worked great

Re: Dark Olive interior paint?

I've never matched up this color interior before. But just so you know, there is only one Olive interior color. No medium or dark. Those are the poly (metallic) body paint colors. I've always had good luck with taking a piece to the paint house so they can scan to match. Never this color, but a dozen or so others and I've always been content with the match. So well, I have considered having these truck colors made up so I can sell them. I don't know why this has not been done by the big boys yet. The only reason I never did it is because I pay $16 a can and I'm not sure how much more anyone would be willing to pay.

Re: Dark Olive interior paint?

My truck has the olive green interior and the armrests (original green) were in need of some re-freshening, so I took in my door panel and one of the armrests to a auto paint store (Tasco) to match up the paint. I've attached pictures of one painted and compared to the rear of an unpainted one and a pic of them installed on a UNPAINTED original green door panel. It took a few tries, but the paint shop matched it up pretty good, I took a picture of the paint can so if you or someone else want to have it made you don't have to go through the trail / error process.
