My thoughts it’s a heat exchanger for domestic hot water my Dutchstar uses the coolant to heat the domestic water while driving .

Seems like they had a purpose for it when they built it- wonder what that purpose was?

I remember a guy my dad knew who made living ferrying semi trucks around the country. He had made dozens of round trips up the Alcan to the pipeline when it was being built in the early 70s. He had a similar tow bar set up on his truck. He towed his truck behind the semi and then would drive it back home.

[QUOTE=HO455;8963659]Nice 67 C30 stake bed on BAT. Not mine.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...0-1-ton-truck/

This 1967 Chevrolet C30 Custom is a one-ton stake bed truck that was reportedly acquired by the current owner in 1996. It is finished in red with a bronze roof over a tan interior and is powered by a 283ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment include dual rear wheels, a wood slat bed, a 4.10:1 differential, and a JVC cassette stereo. Work performed under current ownership is said to have included cleaning the fuel tank and replacing the fuel sender and the tire tubes. This C30 is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a clean North Carolina title in the name of the owner’s business.[/QUOT

This sold for $10,500
