47-55.1 Door carpet trim

Anyone have a pic of the area with door shut? How much distance between door and the edge of trim? I think i would like to make a bigger trim piece to come down and cover the weld spots, 51 chevy..

there is a seal that covers that area, i cant find a suitable picture right off hand but that horizontal trim piece holds a vertical seal that covers that area you are asking about.

if you dont put a seal there, there should be room for a fabricated trim piece

There is a cab step seal that runs along there. This is the retainer for 50/55 and I am not sure what 47/49 had and it is too dark to look on the 49 cab.

There's plenty of room for a taller trim piece. The stock ones didn't work for me, due to the thickness of the carpet and pad.

I have never seen a truck with the rubber seal that others are mentioning.

its original on that cab so its the same color as the grey windlace 49.2+. its black on the 47-49.1

So, whats the year of the one you pictured? Itlooks like an angled piece that covers the weld marks, which is what i want, mine…pictured above is all ive seen and its short, so i was just gonna make my own…

the cab is a 49.2. what youy are calling an angled piece is not metal, its rubber, still (reasonably) flexible after all these years.

its a seal, mr48 gave the link, the original ones are grey/white, which has faded and looks like steel now. see how the color of the seal matches the windlace color?

the steel piece of yours you say is short is a horizontal retainer for the vertical seal and I suppose also covers the rubber floor edges. but the rubber floor only goes halfway back so i suppose calling it the seal retainer is more correct. the reason there is a 50+ part listed is because the windlace changed in 49.5, so a different retainer was used for the 47-49.1 trucks.
