1970 3/4 ton longbox project

i have a 1970 3/4 ton long box and i was wondering if the frames on the 1/2 ton were the same as the 3/4 ton? it is just so much easier using 1/2 ton stuff. also if anyone has any suggestions for me on anything about building this truck please help. i went to school for autobody and know some about mechanics but not everything so if you know any easy upgrades for the suspension and stuff like that it would be greatly appreciated thanks

Re: 1970 3/4 ton longbox project

I believe the frames are the same, but the components are different.

It isn't uncommon for people to swap complete 1/2 ton running gear onto 3/4 ton frames. You can't necessarily mix and match though.

You have found an excellent resource with this board though.

Have fun with the project.
