Lower driver door skin for my 70.

I have searched a ton but everything I see is pretty dated. What is the best brand/vendor for the lower door skins these days? I have gotten 3 from AMD and all of them have the same issue with the flat area below the body line sunk in a quarter of an inch. Really trying to avoid that much filler in the bottom of the door. Any help is greatly appreciated.

KeyParts. Check out GMCPauls, he's on the board but if you search for GMCPauls his website will come up. Summit carries their stuff too. Probably the best I have found for correct body lines, etc. I don't think you'll be disappointed with it.

I'm going to say a whole door skin would be a lot nicer than just a door bottom. Depending on what the inner door bottom looks like. Lot less welding and work. Not much difference in sheet metal price. Little hammer and dolly work, you can panel bond the skin to the door bottom, couple tack welds your done.

Re: Lower driver door skin for my 70.

Thanks for the replies. I hate to try a full door skin as I have heard they have issues with those as well as new doors shells. My driver side door had the typical issues with the corners being full of bondo. Repairing the inner structure went very well. I figured I would have issues where the skin is being welded but that is turning out great. The issue is with the flat section below the body line. They arrive out of the box sunk in and seem to warp inwards even worse when folding the skin over the shell. I will check out KeyParts & GMC Pauls and see if I can at least get a better skin out of the box.

Well the full skin from KeyParts worked out very well. Turns out their distribution warehouse was only an hour from me. I definitely recommend them at least for door skins. Thanks for that info CC69Rat and OL SKOOL a full skin is the only way to go. Lesson learned lol.

Thanks for the heads up i have one here waiting on me and it is a key part. Sounds like a good weekend project. I did the half door before not really happy with the result either. Now all we need is a pic!

That looks awesome. When bending the seam over i have seen a lot of people had to use filler to smooth out the small dents. That looks untouched nice work.
