2002 S10 ZR2 electric window problem

I rolled the drivers side window up on my 2002 S19 ZR2 and heard a thump in the bottom of the door. My window is up, but now it will not do anything. You can however, hear the motor run when you push the buttons. I've not had an opportunity to pull the door panel off to see whats going on. Any ideas before I operate?

Thanks,

Eddie

The lever arm pivot bolt is busted. You can install a new bolt or buy a whole assembly.

What kind of bolt? If I can just replace a bolt rather than an assembly I'll probably go that route. How difficult is it to replace?

I'm not familiar with the mechanism. You may not have enough room for a bolt. The pivot bolt is riveted on the assembly. A lever pass past the connection point to lower and raise the window. The rollers are another possible bility. The rollers could have popped out. You need to remove the door panel and check.

replace the regulator. I would consider getting one with a NEW motor, yours will fail later and make you feel stupid having to spend more money and doing the work all over again.

Re: 2002 S10 ZR2 electric window problem

Replacing the regulator/motor assembly is probably the best thing to do. The motor failed while it was under warranty and was replaced by the dealership. Now it has failed again (motor runs, window does not work). At least until I can do something, the window is up. Just like the oil lines on my blazer, this job looks like a pain in the a$$!

Thanks,

Eddie
