72 C10 Underbed EFI Fuel Tank options

Quick background, located in Australia, ordered a Boyd Tank with 340 lph pump, shipped via ocean freight, but due to Covid factors is lost in transit.

This is now stopping the fuel injection upgrade. While I would like to order another Boyd replacement the air freight costs from their resellers are very high compared to Summit.

Summit have 2 options, neither I can find much info on, so hoping someone has some first hand experience with either.

There is a Rhodes Race Cars tank with a 340lph option at $850.00 USD, ships May 18, https://www.summitracing.com/parts/r...ckup/year/1972

https://www.rhodesracecars.com/63-72...p_p_12471.html

Or a Classic Performance, with 255 lph pump at $750.00 USD, in stock, https://www.summitracing.com/parts/c...ckup/year/1972

As comparison the Boyd tank with 340lph is $686.00 USD. Shipping doubles this price

Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks Roger

Re: 72 C10 Underbed EFI Fuel Tank options

Hi Roger, I have purchased the Boyd side fill tank with the Performance Online taillight fuel filler option for my efi 72 c10. Unfortunately I am not that far along to tell you about how the drive ability is. But I can say both the fuel tank and taillight filler fit very well and both companies are very helpful and able to work with you! I wish you very much luck on your venture. Thanks Chuck

Look up Overkill Customs out of Innisfail, Alberta on Facebook. He builds bolt in tanks for C10s, and custom tanks as well. I bought one for my 1970, I haven't installed it yet as I'm waiting for a few differential parts to arrive and want to do the differential work before putting a tank in the way. It is a very nice tank, he has lots of options and he will ship. Wouldn't hurt to give him a shout and see what it would cost to ship.

Re: 72 C10 Underbed EFI Fuel Tank options

My plan for my LS swap is to use a Jeep Wrangler tank (1987-1991). They have a EFI version of the tank with baffles. It fits between the frame rails and uses a 1987 Blazer sending unit. I've read a few threads on it over the last few weeks as I prep to get the parts for my truck. Depending on availability in Australia, it may be a less expensive option. Downside - it's a 15 gallon tank, if that matters.
