DIY Electric Power Steering

Hello all- new to this site. This is my first post...I'm restoring a 1969 C10... about to put power steering in it. I've recently seen the claim that some guys (who???) are using the electric power steering units out of 2002-2007 Saturn Vue's or Chevy Equinox's for rat rods or classic cars. Anybody have any information or experience with this idea? I think this is a doable conversion, especially if you used the entire Vue steering column, electric unit and the modify the lower shaft to a chevy steering shaft.
Any thoughts or information much appreciated.

Bill

Re: DIY Electric Power Steering

Thanks- good to know I'm not on a wild goose chase- God knows I have enough projects! I've only been able to find a couple of old farts bench testing out a electric PS unit. If you come across anything relative to a C10 installation, please holler. Bill
