Step side to fleetside

I have heard that you can swap bedsides just wandering if this was true and if so how hard it was

You need to swap the entire bed. So yes, if you want to go from stepside to fleetside you can swap the entire bed from one to the other. You can't (without a LOT of work) turn a stepside bed into a fleetside bed by swapping bed sides.

If you swap the entire bed you unbolt the bolts holding it to the frame, undo the taillight harness, undo any ground straps that are still going between the bed and the frame, and switch them around.
