72 3/4 ton - the money pit

Here's pics of the "money pit" as my wife calls it. This 3/4 ton truck was very used. I have owned it since 2003. The first guy that started it stripped it but never got around to painting it, so it has took from 2005 to now to get it this far. Not a show quality truck, but as long as I can drive in a parade or around town, I'm satisfied. I plan to do spray in liner in the bed. Hopefully will be finished in May.

Good looking truck you have got their. Now just pull the tires and spray bomb the hubs and nuts black and it will look even better!

The wheels have already been spray bombed the off-white color. I have some original painted hubcaps that have the blue bowtie to go back on there. I only have 3 now but if my ebay deals comes thru, I'll have 8- two sets!

Re: 72 3/4 ton - the money pit

I didn't do show truck for 3 reasons:

1. I want to be able to use it if I want to.

2. I didn't have the money to do a show truck resto (I had to have all this done by someone else, I am an accountant!)

3. I sit enough during tax season- I want to drive it and not be sitting at a car/truck show somewhere.

P.S. I have some new chrome hubcaps for my truck but I don't have pics on my computer yet.

Re: 72 3/4 ton - the money pit

Pic of my finished truck- well, almost finished. Had seats redone, but still have a few kinks to work out on controls. Thinking about doing spray-in bed liner and diamond plate all around the top of the bed. Any ideas on what to use/ where to purchase these items ( I am in NW North Carolina)

How did you get those 73-up hubcaps to fit on your Dana 60 rear end? (I am assuming it is a Dana 60 since you have a 72 3/4 ton) They won't go on mine cause the hub sticks out too far...
