Thanks! The red one is my first vehicle I ever owned. At least it was my first running vehicle. It's a factory 396 CST truck. Someone stuck a 67 clip on the front after what must have been a pretty hard hit. I've had it since 1996. I've got a 69 SWB chassis with 72' 5 lugs and drop springs that I had planned on swapping stuff over to. Also have a set of Goodmark bedsides and a really nice OEM steel swb floor. We'll see. I'll be burned up on trucks for awhile after this one although I'm only 14 months into this 67.

Everything is House of Kolor with the exception of the blue toner which was a Valspar product (who owns House of Kolor). The green primer is KP2CF. I also used the new KD3000 primer which doubles as a sealer.
The base is the new Shimrin II series. Over that is SG-150 which is a flake/pearl carrier with blue ice pearl in it. I'm using both UC-35 and UFC-35 for the clear. They gave me a quart of the new USC01 clear as a sample but I haven't tried it yet.

Ok. Beautiful truck man. In looking for a stock-ish color scheme for my 67 and I have been stuck on blue and white.

Did the Blue Ice pearl change the basecoat color at all?.... I am going a real pale baby blue and would like to pearl it by I don't want the color altered at all...

Re: Baby Blue 1967 Renew Project

Here's a pic of my experimentation. The tailgate is OEM 1967 Light Blue. The two large flat panels are the blue I mixed up but the one on the right has blue ice pearl over it. It's darker... not much but it will change the color. For some reason they look a little purple on this computer but they are light blue. We tried white ice pearl but didn't like it. Especially over the white. It made it look like there were dirt specs all over it although it was beautiful in the sun.
I ended up spraying the blue ice pearl over the white too. It's very discrete... you don't see it until you're right on it.

Thanks... I am considering a pearl... I want it to enhance the color not change it... Like the white pearl on a 2014 Ford F150... it just makes the white pop...

Re: Baby Blue 1967 Renew Project

Got the 1st layer of Dynamat down this weekend. Bought some "Dynapad" 1/2" thick foam and put that on the firewall so I could started working on buttoning up the interior. First time ever using that stuff for me but it looks and feels like it should keep the heat out.
Put my steering column back together. Man that's a pain to squeeze a new turn signal switch into the housing. Mounted the new wiring block. Rebuilt the cab fresh air vents. Put the wiper motor back in. Also put the center dash a/c vent in. Waiting on a new CD player. I'll get some pics once I make a little more progress.

Re: Baby Blue 1967 Renew Project

Hopefully I'll get the guts of my doors back together soon. I've got to rebuild the wings and am super nervous about putting them back in the doors without scratching the paint.

Are there any build threads on here describing the correct reassembly order of all the door components?

Re: Baby Blue 1967 Renew Project

Thanks 67ctener...

Fought the hood latch for awhile today but finally got it. I'mm happy with the gaps. Driver's side still sits a little high but I think I can live with it.

Hooked up my hardlines on the Vintage Air unit and got it hung for keeps inside the cab. I'm already concerned that if I have a line that needs a little more tightening then it's a huge pain in the butt. You really only have access to one A/C line from behind the glovebox. All three other connections are located where there is no way to put a wrench on them without dropping the unit. You all know how Murphy's law works...

Beautiful truck! It looks amazing. The tailgate in the pic, are you using that on your truck? I only ask because my truck is light blue and I still haven't located a tailgate.

Got the booster, master cylinder assembly and lines installed yesterday. Also the steering column and shift linkage. Everything just takes time.

Re: Baby Blue 1967 Renew Project

Got some more things done... then think up a few more as I go along. My wife helped me put the windshield and rear glass in tonight. Took about 2 hours to do both after watching the Precision video on youtube. All in all it went well. Hard to see in the photos but the glass looks good. I have my fingers crossed that they won't leak.
Started rebuilding my vent windows. Off to a rough start when the main pivot snapped off. I managed to fab up a new pivot bolt to replace it but now I'm waiting on new glass seals from LMC. They aren't included in the gmcpauls kit. Since these are one year only... and I don't want to buy new ones at $500 a pair ... I'm going to do everything I can to save the ones I have even if the chrome isn't great.
I rebuilt the Saginaw power steering pump. That's a first for me and it was pretty easy. The kit was $12 from Rock Auto. It's all cleaned up now and looks good. I'm running it with an Alan Grove PS pump bracket. It's a nice deal. Used a new set of hoses in a kit from Speedway.
Lots' of little things left to do. It feels good to start making "piles" of stuff smaller in the garage.
