Desperate need of help! Seriously all hands

So this family in my town needs help working on her sons truck ( the dad passed away and they need help on the sons truck)
2007 z71
Brake lights not lighting up , left side ( rear won’t blink with blinker) only on the left side of truck they changed bulbs and still same

Brake lights not working would make me think the switch on the pedal has gone bad.

Tow hitch installed? Check the towing light fuse

I would also think the pedal switch would be the issue but it’s only the left side not working the right woks just fine

It is possible the circuit board in the taillight is bad. If the left side is only effected, I would tend to think that from what I have heard so far. I have dealt with that issue on several generations of GM trucks.

Ah I see, I read it as if no brakes lights worked and the left side just didn't blink.
