Question HEI Vacumm advance

I was reading the post on hei advance and realize i have no idea what all these degrees andall mean, i now about dwel when dealing with points, but im confused so here is my question, if i have an HEI ignition with vacumm advance, do i need to worry about anything inside to do with springs or anything? thanks

if you are doing a recurve ,pick up a crane vac advance kit, it will also have several springs for the mecanical advance. Just read through the inst with the kit, & it will set up pretty good for a relatively stock engine. good luck.....Al
