WTB: 67-68 upper grill insert

Looking to find a used upper grill insert to complete my project. Please let me know if you have one. They are typically held in by a few rivets and easily removable.

Re: WTB: 67-68 upper grill insert

I have a couple '67 grilles I got with a project truck last summer. I'll look at them and see if I have one I can part with.

Re: WTB: 67-68 upper grill insert

We dropped into a cold snap again and the truck is in an unheated shed. Supposed to be near 50 this weekend and I'll venture out and see what I have.
By hoops, you mean the trim part that goes on the insert ?

Yep, steel trim. Usually painted white or silver from factory. I am thinking of getting a set chrome plated, the aftermarket trim is terrible! No worries, the weather will make up its mind one of these days!

Re: WTB: 67-68 upper grill insert

I have a couple extra sets of steel grill hoops and steel 67-8 headlight bezels . I'll get some pictures later today , I sent out my grill shelves / hoops and headlight bezels for chrome . It's not cheap to have them chromed but I think they look a lot better .

These pictures are after chroming , these are not for sale .

Woodnears.
I looked over your build, man you did a killer job for a garage and endless effort.
Grumpys trim might not be for sale, but the idea is worth money…

Thanks! I’ve done a poor job of keeping the build thread current! It’s turning out pretty sweet! Just a few odds and ends to finish up.

Re: WTB: 67-68 upper grill insert

I was in the back shed yesterday for something else and took a quick look. The riveted mounts on one grille are OK. The grille is damage in the left corner but the mounts are decent with a little tweaking. There is only the bottom hoop and it's crushed pretty good in the left corner, but you may be able to get it good enough for paint. It will never be straight enough for chrome. I did find one other hoop in the bed, but in the process of blasting it by someone, they came across rust thru and would need repair too. It was still only 32* and I didn't have my camera with, but if interested, I will get pics in the next couple days.
They would be yours for the cost of shipping.
