I sold her.......

I sold my truck for the second time... i bought it when i was 14, sold it when i went to college, bought it back when i got married and now i've sold it for the final time... it was a factory big block, ac, bucket seat long bed, i had a race bb in it for a while and when i sold it she was powered by a stock super fresh 350... i got $4k for her... did i do ok on the price? i bought it for $1,200 back in the day with a blown motor... it's had two big blocks, one small block and countless girlfriends... now it's on to another project... 2 1/2 year old daughter... i'll buy another one someday and fix it up with her... but for now i'm 67-72 chevy truckless...... i did get some satisfaction out of the deal because the kid i sold it to had always wanted it and it is now his first classic vehicle....

here is a pic of the old girl.... i'm gonna miss her.

That sure is a sweet ride! I don't know that I could have ever let that go. What are your plans now?

Re: I sold her.......

I guess fine69 is right. You can find another truck one day. I know from experience that 2 yr olds dont leave much time or money for playing in the garage

Re: I sold her.......

i think i am going to find another truck and not do a thing to the body, put some air ride on it, beefy wheels and tires, and just work on all the creature comforts... ls motor, overdrive, ac, and comfy seats... something i could drive to work everyday or across country on the power tour... a modern old truck...

Re: I sold her.......

Sounds like you have your priorities in the right place - there will still be trucks around in 15 years, but your kid will be gone & all you'll have is the memories....

Mine just got her learner's permit and I can see the end of the road of her being a major part of my life coming quickly - even when I'm not in the mood, I never turn down a chance to take her driving. I even went to my first concert with her a few weeks ago.

If you miss the trucks that much spend $1500 or $2000 on one that looks presentable, and just drive it around without a ton of work - that's what I'm doing - no major restoration work on one I own for 2 more years, at least.
