HO72 Wheel Bearing Help

Hello,
I apologize if this is in the wrong section, I was torn between posting this here or in the 67-72 section. Anyways, I have a 1970 C30 with the HO72 rear end. Over the past weekend I was looking at the brakes and found that the passenger side brake's shoes and inner drum were coated with gear oil. I would assume that a bad wheel seal would be to blame for this. But, here is where I'm not too sure:
The inner wheel bearing has a LOT of play (back and forth) between the wheel seal and the "cup" that it sits in. Is there a washer or something that goes between the bearing and the seal to help hold everything place? Also, I do not believe the bearing is original as it is a product of Japan, part number 4T-388A. Do you guys think this is just the wrong bearing or am I possibly missing something? I would check the other side but I'm worried about having both rear wheels off the ground and the truck rolling.
So, any ideas?
Thanks, Brad

Re: HO72 Wheel Bearing Help

Parts for the eaton differentials are all but impossible to get anymore. Someone more familiar with the eaton rear may be able to help but I know for sure you are going to have a hell of a time finding anything for that differential including wheel bearings.

As a side note this section is exactly where that question belongs.

Re: HO72 Wheel Bearing Help

That is normal. The brg. goes up against the ledge on the spindle The seal rides on the raised portion. The brgs. & seals are readily available. The original brgs are a conical style. The replacement is straight roller brgs. If you replace the inner or outer you are supposed to replace the other one also.
