If you don't intend to carry any weight in the bed, you can do shackles and remove leafs from the pack to get 4" of drop. That's how the previous owner did the rear on my truck and I'm around 5" of drop in the rear without a flip kit. I don't carry anything so it's not a "problem" for me. The ride is good though you can tell it's soft. Good shocks are a must no matter what you do. If you don't have sway bars, get at least a front. The larger the better.
