Will you need the old wiper switch with the delay unit? How does the washer work with the delay unit?

Re: Wiper Delay Boxes

Yes, you retain the factory wiper switch as it runs the wipers and windshield washer.

The wiper delay goes between the OEM wiper switch and the wiper motor.

You still turn on/off the wipers with the OEM wiper switch. The wiper delay module can be in the off position so that the wipers will function without any delay, or turn it on and you have wiper delay functionality of 3 - 30 seconds.

Sadly, I don't have one of those holes in my dash. Maybe come up with some kind of foot switch or hook it up to Alexa (J/K).

But you do actually, you just have to drill the hole in the bezel.

Re: Wiper Delay Boxes

Just a quick update.

I had to work some side jobs to be able to purchase the delay boards, wiring, connectors, boxes, etc., which has me on out of pocket expenses $600+ so far.

I have not asked for money up front from anyone as I didn't have a timeframe as to when I will receive the parts to build these modules. Fortunately, even though most of the parts are not here in the USA, shipping is only supposed to take a week for the majority of the parts.

As soon as I get all the parts in from the vendors I will start building these wiper delay modules.

Thanks,

Doug

Just waiting for parts to show up and then I can start building a couple dozen of them to start.

I still need to calculate total parts cost for each unit and then my labor to determine what the final cost will be.

Re: Wiper Delay Boxes

Just a slight hiccup in being able to test the module. I don't have my 72 Chevy pickup any longer and only have my 72 Monte Carlo to test it with.

The limitation I have is that I have tendonitis in my left shoulder and bicep and it will be hard to get to the wiper switch in the dash on my MC unless I remove the driver side bucket seat to be able to lay on the floor and reach in the dash from behind. I will work on that today after work.

Just a reminder, if these are made and sold, you will need to be in the high octane membership tier. You can Pm me at anytime about getting it set up.

Thanks and I hope this works out for you. Tendonitus is no joke.
