Re: New 68 Stepper Build...IM BACK!!

got some more little parts in. got the wilwood flex lines and adapters in. next to weld the tab and position where it needs to be.

Transmission is done with the exception of being painted aluminum. Complete LT to LS conversion, Stage 2 650hp build, and shifter relocation.

Heck of a parts list. Sounds like it's going to be a super nice touring-driver of a truck.

Awesome build, I have to say your mechanical skills are way more advanced than mine. I feel like I'm in the stone ages working on my old 350. Can't wait to see it finished.

Re: New 68 Stepper Build...IM BACK!!

Stainless brake lines came in. Ordered from online tube and they totally forgot to put the front lines in the box. Let’s hope they send the rest. Zoey had a rough day. While cleaning up the storage barn at my dads and finding a ton of parts I forgot I had, she ran around in the woods, played in the mud, and got all greasy. Came home got a dawn dishsoap bath, and this is where she’s at now. Thinks she is a human I guess. I think she snores louder than me.

Anyways, after cutting and modifying the lines for the rear, the only thing left for the rear end is tighten the lines up, weld the tabs onto the axle and touch it up.

So.. wire wheel…sanding disk where needed, little phosphoric acid wash, degrease, dry with a little heat from a torch, and apply the last bit of por15. When she’s dry… time to assemble.

About to paint my frame. Looks like you painted the front half and then the back later? Did you do anything special to blend?

It’s por15. Just scuff it up a little bit. Im putting por15 topcoat afterwards to blend. I waited because I needed to cut the c notch out.

5000 bolts later. I don’t know how this kit was designed to be put on with the bed on. Props to who has done it. I didn’t have help so that may be why.

I think I’m done for the night. I didn’t even get the picture of the sway bar in. Can’t tighten or torque anything that moves until I have it at ride height/weight on the suspension.

Just checked on my rack and pinion and it should be here tomorrow end of day. In-line tube should be here soon too for the missing parts. Need to check on the sandblaster and see where he’s at on the cab and stuff.

Re: New 68 Stepper Build...IM BACK!!

Did something to my lower back and waiting for my VA doc to respond to getting me an appointment to find out what is wrong. Gotta love the VA right? Anyways, got my guys to move the transmission outside so I could prep, sand, clean, prime and paint my t56. What sucks is I have no way to move it back into the garage, ya know, cause I lifted something wrong so… I guess she’s sleeping outside tonite.
