Is the white that's on two-tone trucks just white-white or is it an off-white? I'm not sure what it would have looked like off the assembly line. Is there a name and code for it?

It can be one of several colors.
The roof can be painted secondary color or body color depending on what option was chosen.
The secondary color roof was available without a secondary side color.
73-80 sides were typically second tone on the middle area of the sides inside the side molding ring.
81-91 had a stripe from the molding up to the body line or under the molding to the bottom of the body.

The secondary color could also be one of several not just white or off white. I've seen two tone with Gray, Black, Red, ... secondary color.

I had an 85 that had root beer brown as the main color with a cream white roof and cream white lower panels under the side molding.
My grandfather had a root beer brown 80's truck with body color roof and secondary color from the body molding to the body line. It was funny parking those almost twins next to eachother.

I used the 1995 GM Garnet Red Metallic with the 1985 GM Cream White from my 1985 inside the side moldings and on the roof of my 1976. It looked gorgeous. Darn if I can find an electronic picture of it after it was painted tho.

Wow! That's more complicated than I expected. It's a 1978 Chevy C10 2wd. Here's a picture. To me it just looks like basic white, not very creamy.

Yeah Frost White, paint code 12 was the only white offered in 78, (and I think all square body years)

Page 83 of the pdf shows all the color combos- primary and secondary colors plus what was available as the interior colors. But as already stated Frost White #12 is the white you're looking for.

Thanks for that. Looks like my orange is actually called "Cardinal Red" too. Interesting.

Can't tell from a pc generated picture here but if it is a metallic orange (bronze color) it would be Russet Metallic code 68 with frost white code 12.
